So what do I actually do? You’re not alone in asking this question! With so many wellness professionals out there — dietitians, nutritionists, and therapists — it’s easy to get confused. If you're finger is hovering over 'nutritionist near me', read on...

🥑 What Is Nutritional Therapy?
Nutritional therapy is a personalised approach to health that uses diet and lifestyle changes to support the body’s natural ability to heal. I won't just tell you what to eat — it’s about the whole picture: your symptoms, goals, environment, habits, stress, sleep, digestion, and even relationships. I will help you to pinpoint exactly what is impacting on and driving your symptoms.
👩⚕️ What will happen in your first nutritional therapy consultation?
1. We will take a deep dive Into your health history
Before offering any advice, I will will take the time to really understand you. We will spend approximately 90 minutes together, online or in person if you live on the Wirral, and I will ask you A LOT of questions! We will explore:
Your diet, lifestyle and current symptoms/goals.
Symptoms across body systems (digestion, hormones, skin, energy, etc.). It's amazing the connections you make when you are prompted to consider what else is going on in your body.
Looking at your medical history, past and present medications, and even your family's medical history can throw up clues to your own health symptoms. It is such an interesting process.
This functional approach helps uncover the root causes of what’s going on. We don't want to just stick a plaster over the surface symptoms.
2. I will create a personalised nutrition and lifestyle plan for you
No one-size fits all, copy-and-paste meal plans here! Your plan will be tailored to fit:
Your current health challenges
Your goals (e.g., more energy, weight management, hormone balance)
Your lifestyle (because if it doesn't fit, it won’t work!)
Plans are discussed with you, not dictated, and may include:
Specific foods to include and simple swaps
Foods to reduce
Meal ideas or food suggestions
Lifestyle adjustments (stress, sleep, movement)
Supplement guidance (if needed)
Testing (if needed)
We can start with baby steps, or go all in! You decide.
3. You may choose a series of consultations with ongoing coaching
One-off advice can only get you so far. I offer to work with clients over several weeks or months, providing:
Regular and quick check-ins to track progress
Suggested adjustments to your plan based on results or life changes
Motivation, support, and troubleshooting
The support can be phone or email-based. Again, you choose what works for you..
4. I work alongside other health professionals to support you (when needed)
I may collaborate with your GPs or other health professionals to ensure a well-rounded and safe approach — especially if you have complex conditions or are on medication.
🧠 What should you look for before booking a nutritional therapist?
Always check qualifications. A properly trained nutritional therapist should have:
Accredited training in nutritional therapy
Insurance and ongoing professional development
Membership in a recognized body (like ANP or BANT)
💡 Could Nutritional Therapy Help You?
Do you experience any of the following:
Low energy or fatigue
Digestive issues (bloating, IBS, reflux)
Hormonal imbalances (PMS, PCOS, peri- and menopause symptoms)
Skin conditions (acne, eczema, psoriasis)
Anxiety or low mood
Autoimmune conditions
Trouble losing or gaining weight (including managing weight loss medication)
Simply wanting to feel better, eat more mindfully, improve your family's health or embrace healthy ageing
If you're still seeking answers, try nutritional therapy. The right nutrition for you can produce the most wonderful changes, restoring your energy and zest for life.
🗓️ Are you ready to experience nutritional therapy?
Start by booking a discovery call (see below). There is no obligation to proceed, it's just a chat to see if it's for you and if we are the right fit! It’s a safe space to explore your goals and ask those niggling questions.
💬 Final Thoughts
Nutritional therapy is not about perfection — it's about progress, understanding your body, and taking back control of your health with guidance that actually makes sense for you. It's a truly FASCINATING journey - I speak from experience!
